Boo

This will start your Halloween off with a scare. Imagine this, you are in a football game. It's fourth down and inches. You run the ball on the outside left. There is a hole and you cut through. Then pow!  Number 19 comes right at your knees and knocks you down, then number 46 comes and tackles you from the top. It was a huge hit luckily he wasn't hurt and played the next play.

Halftime

At halftime, the band come out and plays a tune or two then announcements are made. After the announcements, the kickers and sometimes the quarterback come out to warm up before everyone else. A few minutes later the visitors come out and then the Longhorns come out. They then join the kickers and quarterback warming up then halftime is over. The game resumes and the action starts again.

Spitting Fire

Click on the picture. You probably can't see the fireballs from this small picture but click it and see. The first time I saw this on my small camera screen I was upset that I didn't get the fire, but once looking at it on my computer I was proud. It almost looks like tiny fireballs are shooting out of the cannon.

Celebration

Once a team scores, they break into celebration. After Texas scored it's second touch down, they ended up scoring 41 points, they celebrated. Some people celebrate differently than others, some dance, some act and some make random movements signalling they're happy. I think that number 77 is happy, he is jumping on the guy who scored. The only person who doesn't look happy is number 51, he just looks angry.

Audible

An audible is when the quarterback changes the play right before the snap. In this picture, Sam looks like he is signalling the wide receivers to change but in the picture four seconds after this, I saw Toneil Carter running with the ball. Maybe it was a fake to try and outsmart the defence. Sam also might be talking to the linesmen and telling them who to block.

Stiff Arm

Texas' quarterback Sam Ehlinger is not afraid to run with the ball. He is also not afraid to take hits from defends and also give hits to defenders. In this picture, Sam (11) is on the move and stiff-armed a defender to gain extra yards. He ended up getting the first down but they were not able to get the touchdown. Instead, Kansas State was given the ball on the 1-yard line and also got a safety.

White Versus Orange

Every year the white team, Kansas State plays the orange team Texas. This year was the first year that I took my camera down to the stadium. This is a cool picture because on the left side of the picture is Kansas State and on the right side is Texas. The picture is almost split right down the middle. I was going for a 50/50 split but I think 60/40 is close enough.

Kickoff

It's time for more Texas football. In the beginning of games the cannon shoots then the Longhorns come running out of the tunnel and onto the field. Once on the field, they run through the band, shaped in a T. Once all of that is done they start warming up and then the real kickoff happens. After the kickoff come great plays and even better pictures.

New Butterfly

I was almost done with taking pictures of the butterfly's when I noticed that this butterfly just flew in. When it landed to eat it didn't stay still. It flapped it's wings like it was still flying. I really like how close I was able to get to it. I am also impressed that I was able to freeze his body, he was moving his wings quite fast.

Dinner

I believe that this is this butterfly's dinner. The black thing from the butterfly's mouth is like a straw and it sucks up the nectar from the flower. The reason that they eat nectar is that they eat almost any object that can be dissolved in water. Since the nectar is a liquid, it can be dissolved by water making it one of their favorite things to eat.

Scarecrow

The first scarecrows were made over 3,000 years ago to scare off birds from farms. Today they are commonly used as decorations, specifically for Halloween. Just like this scarecrow. It is just a decoration to help give out the Halloween spirit. At least in this picture, the sun isn't in the face of the scarecrow because if it was the face would be way overexposed and it would be one hot mess.

Hide and Seek

I saw the squirrel about ten feet in front of me and wanted take photograph it. Instead of posing it ran up this tree and looked out at me. It was probably looking at me to see if I was going to hurt or threaten it. I wasn't, I was just going to take a few picture then pedal away.

Grass Rows

In the driveway of a semi-modern house, they had grass in between the bricks. I crouched down and took a picture showing the rows of grass and the rows of bricks. The bricks aren't directly behind each other and that makes the grass not grow straight back. The grass travels in rows but not in columns, in columns they are only one brick tall.

Monarch Butterfly

Like yesterday's picture, this is the same butterfly but in a different position. As I continued my bike ride I was looking to see if any houses had gardens or flowers and this house had three gardens full of flowers! I pedaled up to it and saw butterflies and bees around the flowers. I knew this was a chance that would change soon and I took my time and got some of the best pictures yet.

Monarch Butterfly

This is a Monarch Butterfly. Depending on the region of where the butterfly is it is also called milkweed, common tiger, and wanderer. The different regions they are found in include but are limited to Texas, Vermont, Minnesota, and Idaho. Basically most states in America and during its migration period in Mexico.

Pollinators

This bee is helping the plant reproduce. The bees and other pollinators collect the nectar and pollen from a plant then takes the pollen and drops it to make more plants. They then use the nectar as food and other nutrients for its hive. The nectar is taken back to the hive and made into honey and other needs.

Butterfly

This butterfly was at the house that the green pumpkin was at when I came by.

Pumpkin Season

It's that time of the year again! It's October and that means pumpkins and spooky things. Normally pumpkins are orange and have lines going down but this pumpkin is green and yellow and has bumps. There are also pumpkins whose color is white, yellow, or red. Have you ever seen a red pumpkin? It seems like an unusual color for a pumpkin to be.

Ruff

While on a bike ride around the neighborhood looking for pictures, I went to a friends house and found this dog. He raced over to the fence and started staring at me. After looking at me for some time he started to bark at me. I took out my camera and started taking pictures of it. He was so fierce the way he was barking at me, I thought he was going to break the fence.

Goats

These are the rare Angora goats. They date back all the way from the 13th century in Asia Minor. No, not really. These are just fake goats that I found in someone's yard. They are made and metal and probably don't eat anything. They were probably made in America and in the 21st century. Behind the goats is that tall grass bush object. That is where I took two of my pictures.

Wood Pecker

This is a Golden-fronted Woodpecker. They are common in west Texas and Mexico but not in Dallas. It normally hangs out in isolated groves of trees and unbroken dense forests. This woodpecker was not in a grove of trees or a forest but in a single tree far from others. Why is he at this tree and not at a grove or forest? Why is he all the way in Dallas? If only I knew.

Disperse

In the center of this leaf, all the veins come together. They provide the leaf with food, water, and nutrients. The food, water, and nutrients come from the soil and stem then the veins disperse them all around the leaf. Without this then the leaf would die. That's why you need to always water your plants and have good soil to support the plant through nutrients.

Late Bloomer

Yesterday's picture I talked about how fall is here and the colors are changing. Today I am going to talk about how this flower missed its chance to bloom. While it might have a little more growing time because it is Texas and it's hot, it will probably never fully bloom. It will grow a little but not all the way to its brother which is a fully bloomed and very beautiful flower.

Array of Leaves

Fall is finally here and the leaves are showing it. Not all of the trees and plants are turning colors but this plant started to turn colors. It goes from a light yellow to dark red, back to the normal color of green. Soon all of the trees and plants will turn colors and there will be a new scenery to take pictures of.

Dead or Alive?

The sun is a killer of this flower. The plant looks like it is trying to survive but the sun is damaging the petals. The darker pink spots look completely different than the rest of the flower and leafs. Then there those three brown leaves in the middle. They are not like the others and make the flower look bad.

Sliver of Moon

In the final days that the moon is out, it turns into a tiny sliver. By tomorrow I bet that the moon will be gone and it will be a dark night. Then the next day the moon will be back and in two weeks there will probably be another full moon. The cycle repeats again and again. Full moon, no moon, full moon, no moon.
