Blocked

At a basketball game, the defense is jumping up and down trying to not let the offense score. It was quite an amazing jump. The teams played very hard to the end, but one had to win and that was my team. 

Merry Christmas and happy holidays

Near my house, there is a house that has many Christmas decorations. Some of them more floating in the air. It almost looks like the ornament is just there in the air with nothing holding it.

Wet and Dry

On the sides of the waterfall ice had formed, in some part better than others. I captured the edge of the ice where it meets the rock. The bottom must be partially gone because we can see the air pocket where the ice meets the rock.

Rolling Sunset

The clouds were rolling in right as the sun was setting. I was very disappointed when the clouds blocked the sunset leaving me with no sunset and dark, gray clouds.

Icy Waterfall

In the same place as yesterday's picture, the center of the waterfall was flowing and not solid. The water came out of the overhang and splashed a little. I set my shutter speed high and took a picture of the 'flying' water.

Icicle

At our frozen pool, icicles formed. The pool was a liquid but on the little waterfall we have, the sides of it were ice. Some were bigger than an inch thick!

Ocean Sunset

The sun literally sitting on the ocean. I would have never gotten this picture if it weren't for Chris C.  What another element the clouds make too.

Needle in the Sky

A church is a perfect place to take photo's. I saw this church and had to take some pictures. I took more than a few that's for sure.

Fall in the City

While at a stop light, I noticed some yellow and green trees. I thought they were gorgeous. Sadly, the road construction was in the way, but it still is an awesome picture.

Rain dropped Leaves

The rain hit these leaves and left very pretty drops. Zoom in and you'll see them very easily, not so much right here.

Street River

During the same time as the Icy River, the rain made many rivers and many good photography opportunities. Like the last one and the many photographs following, this rainstorm is going to be the star of the website.

Light in Darkness

Thanks again Caroline G., sometimes a little lamppost is helpful in the night. This is exactly what she did. I don't know if it was actually dark or if she just made it dark, but the light and dark contrast is one of the best I've seen.

Up High

Down below a flag pole, Caroline G. took this picture. A gust of wind must have just come in because if you look at the flag seems to be flowing ever so slightly.

Up the Cactus

Tip of the hat to Henry M. In this picture, we can see a cactus, which I don't see everyday, and a dark, absolutely beautiful sky. He took the picture from the bottom, which adds some more character to the picture.

Icy Waterfall

During a little rain storm, some water rushed down the side of a street. I call it "icy" because the water was icy cold and I was wearing open toe shoes. Does anyone see the tiny circles (or raindrops) in the stream?

Water Sun

Thanks to Chris C., we can see water and the sun, two words I thought I would never say in a sentence. In this picture they mix perfectly together, the specks of water on the leaves are beautiful.

Dark Walk 

Thanks Caroline G. for this great picture. The camera is leveled right on the ground, perfect for a shot of someone walking. To make the picture even better, she put it in black and white. What a cool picture!

Whole Field

Thanks to Alex S., we can see what a field looks like when no one is on it or in the stands. Normally you see a game going on and fans all around in the stadium, but not today. 

Rolling Waves

Another fabulous picture by Chris C., the rolling "waves" are approaching the sandy beach. I like the darkness of the picture, it makes it seem either early in the morning or late into the sunset.

Gone Fishing

Thanks to my friend Chris C., I have this amazing picture of the ocean and a fishing rod. What goes better? I like how the line is neon orange and the ocean is, obviously, blue. It's a really good contrast of light and dark.
